Summertime Shorties

We are getting some real warm weather (high 80′s) this weekend… or today, and I wanted to make sure all the rabbits would be comfortable. All three grown-ups have already shed their coat and I harvested all their wool last week so I just sheared what was left. Now they can stay cool for awhile and start a new coat from scratch. French angoras don’t need to be sheared, but it’s always a good idea in hot weather.

Now when you pet them, or rub their backs, they feel like chenille! That will be my next endeavor… chenille rabbits.

2 1/2 Weeks Old and Curious

Everyone was out of the nest box yesterday hopping around. Clementine got a little alone time in the play area while I gave the babies a “wellness check” looking for clear eyes, butts, and ears. All of the little ones had the cage to themselves to jump and play as they pleased. I tried my best to take some pictures of the action, but they really are fast little buggers. They are getting cuter by the day!
